Liturgy of the Hours

The daily Liturgy of the Hours articulates our love and gratitude toward God and originated with the ancient Hebrews. It is bound to the rhythm of the coming of night and day. It celebrates that all time is sacred and gives expression to the entire Church at prayer.

We set aside three times each day to gather with others to acknowledge the primacy of God, praise God, ask God’s forgiveness, and lift the entire world in God’s love, mercy, and compassion.

Eucharist

Vatican Council II tells us that the Eucharist is “the source and summit of the Christian life” (Lumen Gentium, no 11; cf. Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 1324). The sisters place great value on the celebration of the Eucharist.

Lectio Divina

Lectio Divina is a monastic practice of praying with Scripture. It enables one to assimilate the reading of the Word of God into one’s daily life and supports one’s prayerful presence at the Liturgy of the Hours. Lectio may be practiced individually or in small groups.

COVID Prayer Information

Due to the Coronavirus guidelines, the Sisters of Saint Benedict have not scheduled Masses in our chapel until further notice. Until we are able once again to invite others to our prayer and Masses, please stay healthy and holy! That in all things, God may be glorified! (Rule of Benedict 57:9)
