At Thursday, September 19th’s Evening Prayer, Sue Murphy was officially blessed and installed as Mount Saint Benedict’s Monastery Coordinator. Sue has been “learning into” this position since the beginning of July, and will be just the right person for all of us to move into our future! Sue’s parents, Jim and Betty, as well as her Aunt Lucy, Aunt Betty, and brother, Chris, were able to join us for Evening Prayer and supper afterwards!
Sister Jennifer Mechtild Horner, our Pastoral Administrator from Beech Grove, IN, began with the Reflection.
Sister Jennifer went through the oath of office with Sue.
Sue was given Sacred Scriptures as a guide.
Sue responded to the gift of Scripture.
Sue was given the Holy Rule of Saint Benedict.
And Sue responded to the gift of the Rule.
Sister Jennifer welcomes Sue into her new role.
Sue went first to Sister Myra and then each Sister for hugs and support.
Sister Kathleen gave Sue her support.
The whole community extended hands for a blessing of Sue.
