The Gospel of Matthew
In 2010, Saint John’s University and Abbey honored Mount Saint Benedict Monastery with the gift of a Heritage Edition of The Saint John’s Bible. Shortly before the beginning of the new millennium, Saint John’s had commissioned the calligrapher to the Queen of England, Donald Jackson, to create a hand-written and hand-illuminated bible. The Saint John’s Bible is the first hand-written Bible commissioned by a Benedictine monastery in 500 years.
