Our primary ministry is that of prayer. We gather at morning, midday and evening in our chapel to pray the Liturgy of the Hours and to celebrate the Eucharist. We also take time each day for individual prayer and reflection. Prayer requests and the needs of the world are included in our daily prayer.
Since our founding in 1919, the Sisters have carried on the ministry of healthcare in our sponsorship of Villa St. Vincent. While sponsorship has recently been transferred to BHS (Benedictine Health System) and the Benedictines of Duluth, the Sisters of Mount Saint Benedict continue to serve the Villa in pastoral care and volunteer work.
The Sisters established Care & Share Shelter of Crookston, a shelter for the homeless in 1986 through the inspiration and ministry of Sister Justina Violette, the first director. Care & Share now consists of a homeless shelter, transitional housing, and a soup kitchen, continuing to serve individuals and families in Crookston and surrounding communities.
