The ministries that the Sisters of Mount Saint Benedict have been involved in since our founding in 1919 are:
Healthcare
Through sponsorship of hospitals in the Diocese of Crookston and at Villa St. Vincent in Crookston. Sisters have actively been involved as nurses, anesthesiologists, medical records technicians, and dentists.
Education
As administrators of Catholic Schools, teachers at all levels from Preschool through college, piano instructors, migrant education, and English as Second Language teachers.
Care Of The Homeless
Through Care and Share Shelter of Crookston, founded in 1986 through the inspiration and ministry of Sister Justina Violette. Care and Share continues to serve individuals and families of Crookston and the surrounding communities as a homeless shelter, transitional housing, a soup kitchen, and a food shelf.
Peace & Justice Work
Through active participation in Pax Christi NW Minnesota.
Care Of The Abused
The development of a shelter for abused women in south Texas.
Support Our Ministries
Mount Saint Benedict continues to support these ministries through grants from the Mount Saint Benedict Foundation.
