The flood of March, 2022 was devastating to the city of Crookston, with the Red Lake River way over its banks and also breeching the dike on Riverside Avenue, which flooded one home and many basements. Here on the Monastery grounds, it flooded the ponds on both sides of the east road to the Hermitage and Farm, completely covering the road, It also filled Horseshoe Pond, bringing the water level up to the top of the north side of the pond and filled in some of the valley on the west side, making the river visible from the west road.
